" CHAIRITY "

In 2008 the DSK ( German International School ) celebrated its 125th anniversary.

For that reason we organized a very special art competition .

We have commissioned CAPE MENTAL HEALTH ( a workshop for the disabled in Mitchell's Plain ) to supply us with 125 wooden chairs. Each participant was given one chair to decorate: paint, beads, fabrics, wire, wood, glass, there was only one restriction, one still needs to be able to sit on the chair.

The completed chairs were exhibited at our school. Some chairs had been awarded with special prizes ( see Awards ). All chairs went into an auction - with the proceeds going to children charity projects.
